Red Sea Wrap
The Red Sea Wrap was inspired by our time in Sharm-El-Sheik. Each morning we walked into the sea and were surrounded by all the fish in all the colours…..the flamboyant parrotfish were our favourites.
This rectangular wrap is crocheted with 400g of DK yarn. It doesn’t have a border and all the colour changes are made by the yarn so there are very few ends to weave in. The stitch pattern uses a simple combination of slip stitches and half trebles worked in the back loop with a 4 row repeat. The wrap grows slowly so relax and enjoy the changing colours. It can be worn in a variety of ways making it a versatile garment for all seasons and occasions.
My Red Sea Wrap was made with Yarnsmiths Lagoon DK, 4x100g balls in colourway Kasegaluk, using a 4mm hook. Length 160cm, width 48cm.
Other colours of Yarnsmiths Lagoon DK will work well for this wrap. You could also try using an alternative variegated DK yarn for your own unique version of the Red Sea Wrap.
You can make your Red Sea Wrap as long and as wide as you like. Gauge is not important but you should use a hook size that is appropriate for your yarn and tension.
