The hat is named after Elizabeth Purslowe, a woman printer working in 17th century England. Female printers were rare in the Early Modern Period and often mocked for their perceived ‘lack of skill’. It goes without saying that Purslowe’s books are stunning pieces of work.
So, let’s take our craft (also often mocked) and make something beautiful with our hands & hearts.
- This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters.
- The hat is worked in the round, and comes with both written and charted instructions.
