Posy Cowl
The Posy Cowl is a fun project that makes use of a modified Japanese stitch pattern that involves wrapping several stitches with the yarn before knitting them. Worked in the round, the series of wraps creates a pattern that looks like small flowers (posies) on a lattice with an almost woven effect.
The pattern offers 3 sizes: Short, long, and extra-long (Finished measurements: 21(43, 47)“ in circumference, 6.25” wide). The short size allows plenty of room for pulling over one’s head while still snuggling your neck a bit. Size “long” allows the wearer to wrap the cowl around the neck twice, whereas the extra-long can both be wrapped around the neck & looped over the head like a wimple.
Yardage requirement are 180(365, 390) yards of either dk weight or sportweight yarn. Please note that the dk yarn will result in a sturdier fabric than will the sportweight. I love both:)
The pattern requires that you knit from a chart. There are no written-out, line-by-line directions for the Posy Chart.
