Please note, there is no pattern support for this design!
Ponvesca is 3 in 1: poncho, vest and scarf. Easy to wear, versatile and fun to knit garment. Made with an idea to reduce the size of ones wardrobe by incorporating such multifunctional items.
Yarn: a total of 550 g of Soft Merino Tweed from Kilcarra Donegal Yarns held twice, 3800 m in 1 kg cone, shown in 5534 mustard. Or any similar fingering, worsted or aran weight yarn. Depending on your yarn choice the garment can be light and flowy or more chunky and rustic.
Stitches and techniques: knit (k), purl (p), inc2 (increase 2 sts by knit into the front and back of the stitch), m1L, m1R, p2tog, cables.
Needles: 5.5 mm (US 9) or 6 mm (US 10) needles with min 80 cm /29 in long cable, spare cables or spare pair of needles, cable needle, stitch markers.
Swatch: cast on more than 18 sts (about 22-24), enough to measure the gauge of the big cable, and work at least 10 rows of the big cable, then twist the big cable and work another 10 rows. Measure across the widest part.
Gauge: 15 sts and 20 rows in 10 cm /4 in (measured across the widest part of the big cable).
Final measurements: total length from cuff to cuff – 170 cm/ 66.9 in, length from cuff to neck opening – 66 cm/ 25.9 in, neck/waist opening width – 38 cm/ 14.9 in, body length in the middle – 36 cm/ 14.1 in, more details are shown on the schematics.
