Peony Headband Options
Lovely, stretchy headbands, which are very comfortable to wear! They fit nicely around your head and are very easy to slip on and off.
The pattern contains separate sets of instructions for making a large peony, a small peony, a wide headband and a three-strand headband to create various headband options as pictured. The sizes included (baby, toddler, child, adult) are based on average head measurements, but you can make these headbands in any size you like.
Skill Level:
I was very tempted to list this pattern difficulty as “easy”, as the peonies and the three-strand headbands are pretty easy to make. The only reason I also list is as “intermediate” is that you need to be fairly comfortable with slip stitch crochet to work the wide headbands. Having said that, there is no reason why you should not try this project as a starting point for your slip stitch crochet journey. And once you get the hang of it, you will be in love with this stitch! The fabric it creates is so amazingly stretchy and squishy – I just can’t get enough of it!
Materials and Tools:
• Approx. 60 g for options 1 or 3 and 30 g for options 2 or 4 of DK yarn (CYCA category 3: light)

• Stitch marker
• Yarn needle
• 8” (20 cm) piece of elastic cord (options 2 and 4 only)
