Peek-a-Who
My favorite part of Spring is watching my ground to see the new growth peeking through. I wanted to design something that showcased the Accent Colors “peeking” around various parts of this Shawl just like Springtime. This is the absolute perfect Shawl for mindless knitting with the splash of changing of colors to change it up when you need it. And if you feel like you may have lost your place, simply count your ridges -there are 3 in each repeat- to find out where you are in each increase set. And then at the end you get to add your Peek-a-Boo Section for extra spice. If you are worried about running out of yarn you can stop your Accent Section at the end at the end of any increase set. So, it’s perfect for using up all of your yarn as well. Also, you could use as many, or as few, Accent Colors as you would like!
MATERIALS:
For my Larger Sample I used Emma’s Yarn Practically Perfect Sock (2) Full Skeins and Emma’s Yarn Practically Perfect Smalls 6-8gr each of 12 colors as Accents.
For my Smaller Sample I used Madelinetosh Twist Light approx. 160gr of Main Color and 50gr of Accent Color.
Size US 5 Needles, one Circular or two straights.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
I worked up two Samples, one I chose to work until I was almost totally out of yarn, and one I wanted to be smaller.
Smaller- 24” x 57”
Larger- 29” x 60”
-I did block this piece with pins and wires.
