Pearl the Budgie
My very 1st pet was a budgerigar, and he was the best bird a girl could ask for!
I love their quirky personalities and friendly nature, their intelligence and of course their beautiful colours.
This pattern celebrates a particularly stunning mutation: cinnamon. Instead of the usual black bars, these budgies have soft brown markings on their heads and wings. Their facial spots also tend to be softer.
It’s an intermediate pattern because, while the stitches are all rather basic, the construction techniques may be unfamiliar to beginners and maintaining a good tension throughout is important.
The head, body and wings are worked in continuous rounds so you will need to use stitch markers to help you keep track of your stitch count.
You’ll find a detailed photo guide to help demonstrate the construction methods, techniques used and any special stitches.
Happy crocheting!
