Pablo the Puffin by Bilby & Ben

Pablo the Puffin

This pattern is available for £4.50.

I have long dreamed of going to see the puffins off the coast of Wales in person so when my husband gave me this sweet card for our anniversary, I couldn’t resist transforming the illustration into an amigurumi toy.

The pattern is mainly worked in continuous rounds, unless otherwise stated, so you will need to use st markers to help you keep track of your st count. The legs, body and head are all worked in one piece from the bottom up, and then the wings, beak and feet are crocheted separately.

Patterns for Pablo’s little scarf and fish are also included to complete his look.

While the stitches themselves are all fairly basic, there is a fair bit of colourwork involved so maintaining good tension and keeping your stitches from twisting too much is important. This pattern is therefore most suitable for intermediate crocheters.

A stitch guide (including video links) and photo tutorial throughout will help you to visualise the different techniques used and clarify what you’ll be doing at each stage.
