The striped pattern is created by holding single or treble strands of Debbie Bliss Angel yarn.
The body is knitted in the round to the armholes, where it is divided and knitted flat for front and back. The shoulders are finished with a three needle bind off.
The armholes on this garment are relatively roomy for a set in sleeve design. This is to allow for the triple layered sleeve, which are made separately before being bound off together to create a single piece for ease of sewing in.
This is a fitted garment with defined waist shaping. if you want a more relaxed feel I’d suggest omitting the waist shaping and potentially knitting a larger size. You can also knit just the largest sleeve pieces to give a bell, rather than a flounced shape.
Rowan Kidsilk Haze or Adriafil Kid Mohair would be perfect substitutes if you cannot obtain Debbie Bliss Angel.
