Cheerful mittens inspired by the designer Orla Kiely.

These mittens were knit in a cotton/acrylic blend because they were made for someone who requested vegan yarn. This made for a lovely soft mitten, but I think they would be even nicer in wool or a wool blend.

You will need about 130 yards of the base color and 40 yards each of the three other colors.

1/22/15 There has been some confusion on Row 19 and how to do the make ones and follow the color chart. Here is my explanation, I hope it helps.
white k1, blue k1, white k11, blue k1, white k3, (17 stitches) white m1 (because the next color on the chart is white)
white k7, blue k1, white k10 (this included the one stitch from the thumb chart) (18 stitches), white m1
white k4, blue k1, white k12 (17 stitches), white m1 (total 55 stitches)
