Black & White & Red All Over Mittens
A simple design in black and white is highlighted with pops of red. Strand in the red dots as you knit or duplicate stitch them in later.
There have been some questions about the thumb placement on this mitten so I thought I would address them. First of all, it is important to get gauge to get the stated size. Secondly, rows 1 - 24 are the cuff. That means you have 33 row until the placement of the thumb at row 58. which is 2.75”. Measure from the base of your hand to the split for the thumb to see if that is right for you. The thumb itself is 2.75”. If you have a shorter thumb you may want to adapt the pattern a little. (I have long fingers and tend to design for that.)
Uses fingering weight yarn in three colors, for a total of about 315 yards (68 grams). I used Knit Picks Palette in black 25 g/116 yds, white 35g/162 yds, serrano 8g/37 yds
