A big crescent two tone shawl, knitted top down and ever increasing with added contrasting stripes, a simple wide ribbed pattern to finally the beautiful lace border. The I-cord bind- off lends a great final textural touch, almost frames it. Truly a pleasure to knit and wear~
Size: 89” in total wingspan and 25.5” in total height.
Yarn: Bambon, a DK weight cotton/bamboo yarn (154 yards (141 m)/100g). Available in knit kits with in kit free pattern, or yarn at Yarnz2GO
C1 — Powder Blue — 3 skeins (437 yards or 400 m are needed).
C2 — Rust — 1 skein (95 yards or 87 m are needed).
Alternatively use two different colors of a DK weight yarn, C1 437 yards (400 m), C2 95 yards (87 m).
Notions:
US size 10 (6 mm) circular needle 36” (90 cm) in length
21 Stitch markers
Gauge: 14 sts and 26 rows in 4” (10 cm) knitted in Garter stitch, counting 13 ridges
Techniques: Knitting and purling, increases, lace, I-cord bind off, changing colors, carrying yarn along the side
Level of Expertise: Intermediate
