The Morning Socks are the March 2026 installment of The Heels for Days Sock Club.

The series focuses on wearable, logical, useful sock patterns in a wide range of sizes, and each month features a new -- as in never before invented -- sock heel pattern.

This month, the size range has expanded to include child sizes starting from Child shoe size 10 (about age 4) and up, all the way through to Men’s 14.

The new aknitica heel shape for March is comfortable and reinforced with corrugated slip stitches that flow around the heel. Using a combination of short rows and increases/decreases, these sock heels fit well, with more depth than a typical short-row heel.

Morning Socks include full written instructions for making a pair of toe-up socks, and full written AND charted instructions for the Morning Heel.

The Morning Heel can be knit in any of the sock patterns in The Heels for Days Sock Club, so if you prefer top-down socks, substitute them into any of the top-down sock patterns in the club.
