The MEMENTO MORI cowl is the little sibling of my MEMENTO MORI a.k.a the „Martin Gore-look-alike-sweater“ and also a tribute to Martin Gore and Depeche Mode !
It is made in the same way like the sweater, using the same yarn, colours and techniques.
The MEMENTO MORI cowl is a long tube and will be blocked flat first, then twisted once to give it a fake Möbius look and then grafted. You mostly knit – there are only a few purl stitches - in the round and add some randomly placed destroyed elements.
It is pretty easy – so even a knew knitter can show of some love for Depeche Mode.

UPDATE July 2023 => I still cannot believe this => my sister won a Meet&Greet with Depeche Mode just before their concert on July 7th 2023 here in Berlin - and wore the cowl !

Der MEMENTO MORI Cowl ist ebenso wie mein MEMENTO MORI Sweater ein Tribut an Martin Gore und Depeche Mode ! Er wird genauso wie der Pulli gearbeitet – mit demselben Garn in denselben Farben und den gleichen Techniken.
Der MEMENTO MORI Cowl wird als langer Schlauch gestrickt und zunächst geblockt, dann einmal um 180 Grad gedreht um den Möbius Look zu erhalten – und schließlich im Maschenstich zusammen genäht. Es wird fast ausschließlich rechts in Runden gestrickt und mit einigen Elementen versehen, die ihm den „destroyed look“ geben.
Er ist anfängertauglich - so kann jeder seine Liebe zu Depeche Mode zeigen.
