Margot Wrap was designed for Speckled Finch Studios’ 2021 Advent calendar.

Margot Wrap is worked with garter, stockinette and elongated crossed stitches. The shaping creates a subtle bias shape which helps the wearability of this wrap. Each finished edge is an integrated i-cord and wraps yarn carried up the edge.

Extra yarn is included in the yarn requirement. Gauge is not critical for this pattern, however, a different gauge will affect the size of your wrap and the amount of yarn used.

This wrap is designed to use 24 mini skeins of fingering weight yarn, particularly Advent calendars, with a minimum yardage of 77 yards/70 m per mini skein. If using Advent calendars, use the colors in the order they’re unwrapped or wait until they’re all unwrapped to arrange the mini skeins in any order you’d like. There are so many yarn possibilities. Use one main color for the odd-numbered sections and mini skeins for the even-numbered sections or vice versa. Try a few coordinating gradient skeins – the skeins can be switched as written or use all the yarn in each skein one at a time. You can keep it simple by using a single color for the entire wrap – solid, tonal, speckled, variegated would all work. This is a great project to use leftover yarns.
