Mam's Cardigan
Mam’s cardigan (read “mom’s”) is a tribute to a cardigan designed and knitted by my mom years ago. I’ve had it for almost 5 year now and she wore the hell out of it for a decade before me. Trust me when I call it a truly timeless design.
It is a generously oversized chunky cardigan, featuring dropped shoulder sleeve, deep cut V-neck and a pair of practical picked-up patch pockets. It is made with bulky yarn in a variation of moss (seed) stitch. Fast and simple project, suitable even for beginners. Big and warm like a hug, it is almost a coat. I don’t seem to be taking it off any time soon and will finally let the old one retire.
Sizes
The pattern is calculated for nine sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9) to fit 74 (84, 94, 104, 114) (124, 134, 144, 154) cm // 29 (33, 37, 41, 45) (49, 53, 57, 61) in bust/hips circumference with ca. 42—39 cm /18—15 in of positive ease. Please refer to the graph for the finished garment measurements to choose the size and the fit (amount of positive ease) you’d prefer.
The sample is shown in size 2 on a 160 cm /5.3 feet tall model with 84—66—94 cm body measurements.

Gauge
11 sts & 15 rows in 10 cm (4 in) measured over variation of the seed stitch after blocking on 8.0 mm (US 11) needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. The fabric has to be loose and airy, otherwise might look too bulky.
