Pattern Description from Knitted Lace of Estonia: “This shawl, reworked in finer yarn than the original pattern in the Summer 2004 issue of Interweave Knits, was named for Madli Puhvel, author of Symbol of Dawn, the biography of the beloved nineteenth-century Estonian poet Lydia Koidula. Madli has also provided me valuable support and friendship as I researched this book. The pattern in the main section of this shawl is a version of the Haga, (twig or small branch) pattern to which I have added nupps for texture.”

Finished Size: About 14” (35.5 cm) wide and 56” (142 cm) long, relaxed after blocking.

Yarn: Laceweight (#0 Lace).
Yarn Place Gentle (95% wool, 5% cashmere; 1380 yd 1262 m/100 g): #13 dusty pink, 1 skein.
