Mademoiselle Shawl
The Mademoiselle shawl is made up from one skein (463 yards) and is the perfect project to finally use that beautiful hand dyed yarn that is stashed away because is so unique that is hard to combine in multi-colored projects.
The simple fabric created with this pattern will allow any yarn to show its beauty, from variegated to speckles, or even solids and semi-solids.
Gauge: 22 stitches by 34 rows in stockinette sts = 4 in (10 cm)
Stitches used and abbreviations:
CO = Cast On
K = Knit
P = Purl
K2tog = knit 2 together
Kfbf = Knit front, back and front again
YO = yarn over
BO = Bind off
St = Stitch(es)
Finished measurement: 60 inches (152 cm) along top wingspan and 44 inches (111 cm) in with. See schematic.
Please note that gauge and blocking might alter the final measurements of you shawl.
Yarn: Bad Sheep, Colorway: Chardon-nay-nay (75% SW Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Stellina) Sock weight, 463 yards
Yardage: 463 yards aproxx. (Gauge may cause a discrepancy on the final yardage needed)
Needle: Knitting needles # 4 (3.5 mm) (24” or longer are best to accommodate large amount of stitches)
Other Materials: Yarn needle (to weave in ends)
