Madder Socks
I knitted these socks because I love this yarn. I have used Jamieson & Smith Shetland Aran Worsted spun. Because this yarn is worsted spun it is smooth, soft and strong so much more hardwearing than the woollen spun yarns. It’s a great alternative to superwash or nylon sock yarn. They are knitted top down and feature a fair-isle leg and an afterthought heel. The socks were knit using the magic loop technique but you could use any needles you prefer. They come in 3 ladies sizes - UK4/EU37/US6, UK6/EU39/US8 & UK8/EU41/US10. Foot length can easily be altered by adding or subtracting rounds (I do this by knitting the heel in before I get to the toe and then I can try the sock on). Each size has the same leg & foot circumference. As the yarn is aran weight they are comfy & warm.
