Looking Glass is a set of three patterns: worsted and chunky hats and a worsted cowl.

This trio of handsome, textured accessories is named after the “Pier-Glass” pattern from Barbara Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns. A pier glass is a tall mirror put on a wall between two windows, often with shape and design to match the windows. Undulating diamonds reminiscent of framed mirrors decorate these fun knits.

Both written and charted instructions are provided for all three patterns.

Skill level: Intermediate. Special stitches are explained and include right twist, left twist, and p2togtbl (for the chunky hat only). A photo tutorial of p2togtbl is provided in the pattern. A cable needle is not needed.

Worsted hat uses 130 yds.

Chunky hat uses 100 yds chunky yarn or 200 yds dk held double.

Cowl has two sizes (16” or 19”) which use 130 or 160 yds worsted, respectively.
