Lithos is a summer schawl, knit with a light, soft and shiny DK thread made of bamboo and silk. Change for a warm and soft merino or alpaga thread and you won’t leave it for all winter ;)

Thanks to a very basic construction, from side to side, all is left to you is to repeat the lace diamond pattern to see it growing.
This is a really fast knit (6mm needles, oh yeah !), it is done in some evenings.
For information, the shawl, lightly stretched after wet-blocking, measures 215 x 50 cm.

This pattern has been created for a very special occasion and with very special persons for me, the online shop Madlaine and the wonderful dyer Candywool.

Material :

• Thread : DK, around 400 meters («Précieuses» : 51% silk / 49% bamboo). I advise to knit this shawl with a thread that “marks” the lace pattern (bamboo, wool, alpaca, or merino/silk). The perfect deal is 200 meters for 100 g.

• 6 mm needles (or size needed to obtain gauge).

Gauge : 16 st x 16 r (or 8 ribs of garter stitch) = 10 cm in garter stitch), washed, blocked and dry.

The pattern is available with charts and row by row and has been tested both ways.

Level of difficulty according to test-knitters : 2,9/5 (intermediate).

Lithos est un châle estival, tricoté avec un fil DK mi bambou mi soie extrêmement lumineux et doux. Changer pour un fil doux et chaud en mérinos ou alpaga, et vous obtiendrez un châle très chaud que vous ne quitterez pas de l’hiver ;).

Grâce à sa construction très basique, d’une pointe à l’autre, il suffit de répéter le joli motif de dentelle en forme de diamant pour le voir grandir.
Et ceci très rapidement puisqu’il se tricote avec des aiguilles 6 mm, l’histoire de quelques soirées.
A titre informatif, le châle présenté sur la photo après blocage léger mesure 2m15 x 50 cm.

Ce modèle a été créé dans le cadre d’une collaboration très spéciale avec la boutique Madlaine.fr et la teinturière Candywool.

Matériel :

• Fil : DK, 400 m environ (fil «Précieuses» : 51% soie / 49% bambou). Faites ce châle avec une matière qui marque bien la dentelle (bambou, laine, alpaca, ou mérinos mélangé avec de la soie). L’idéal étant d’avoir un métrage 200 m pour 100 gr.

• Aiguilles 6 mm (ou la taille nécessaire pour obtenir l’échantillon).

Échantillon : 16 m x 16 rg (ou 8 arêtes de point mousse) = pour 10 cm en point mousse, lavé, bloqué et sec.
Il est très important de respecter cet échantillon si vous voulez obtenir la même taille que le modèle original.

Le patron est disponible sous forme de diagrammes et de rang par rang.
Il a été testé.
