Linocut Hat
The Linocut Hat makes an eye catching gift for the plant lover in your life. You’ll enjoy stretching your stranded colourwork skills with the unusual, non-symmetrical pattern, and using colour to create your unique take on the design. Plus learn the smart ladderback jacquard technique: it’s the perfect way to manage long floats and makes possible the large areas of negative space that give the bold floral design its impact.

The Linocut Hat was inspired by a block printing technique where a design is carved into linoleum to create a raised surface that can be inked and printed. The simple, organic shapes of the design are evocative of the hand carved textures and unique imperfections that linocut produces. Choose two colours for a bold look that highlights the graphic quality of the design, or play with colour by combining a solid with a self-striping, speckled or variegated yarn to produce a unique look perfect for any recipient.
