Lighthouse Coffee Pot Cosy
Something a bit different – lighthouses are special.
This one will keep your coffee warm on stormy days.
The pattern is for two sizes: to fit a medium (6 cup) or a large (8 cup) cafetiere / plunger coffee pot. The photos show the large size – the medium size has slightly narrower stripes to make it shorter.
8 ply / DK yarn is used DOUBLE on 4 mm needles to make the fabric stiffer, so the lighthouse has “structure” (wouldn’t want it falling down in a gale).
There is a tiny bit of simple crochet involved to make the railing around the top ledge – if you can’t crochet you can just leave the railing off.
Optional extra:
I put a flashing LED ball inside the front of the light section – if you knock it, it flashes red and blue! These balls can be found inside little rubbery toy animals in “cheapie” shops. Mine came out of a purple rabbit (!) bought in Queensland Australia – I can’t guarantee they are available elsewhere.
