Leafwood
Leafwood is a minimalist asymmetric triangle shawl, curved for stay-on shaping by a widening border of short row stripes. A decorative cable runs diagonally through the middle to highlight the contrast between the stripe border and the body of the shawl, and was inspired by the spine structure of leaves.
The design is worked sideways, and both the textured and lace parts of the pattern can be continued to any size. The simplicity of the stripes and ridges is an ideal canvas for showcasing a beautiful yarn and for playing with colour. The design suits lace to worsted weight yarn, and is designed for a pairing of a speckled gradient and a solid, however would also suit two solids/semi solids, or a solid/semi-solid with a gradient or speckled mini-skein kit.
- The size of the shawl is adaptable, both the texture stitch and the lace sections can be worked to any size.
- Suits lace to DK weight yarn in any yardage between approx 400m and 1000m.
- The design can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with some notes.
