This pattern was originally published as Northwest Wool’s contribution to the 2020 Rose City Yarn Crawl in Portland, Oregon. The pattern is also part of the 2020 Pattern Collection: Birds of the Pacific Northwest.

The Lazuli Bunting is a bird named for the gemstone Lapis lazuli. An extremely pretty song bird, it’s main colors are shades of blues, with lots of secondary colors. Males sing to defend their territory while the Females are busy nest building. And busy they are - females can have 2-3 broods per season! And to accessorize your shawl, you can choose to purchase an optional Feather Shawl Pin, designed by local ceramic Artist Candace Wilson of “One of a Kind Buttons”!

(2) skeins The Alpaca Yarn Company Mariquita hand-dyed fingering weight yarn (50% Baby Alpaca, 50% Tencel; 400 yards/100g). Pattern uses 1 skein Variegated with 1 skein Tonal; show in colorways: Carnival with Blue Suede Shoes OR Atlantis with Neptune.
