Just a few short miles from Portland, the honking of geese replaces the honking of cars in this National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). The Refuge is home to nearly 200 species of birds, plus a wide variety of insects, fish, mammals and plants. It’s a place where city folk can experience and celebrate the natural environment. The Tualatin River NWR is one of only a handful of urban national wildlife refuges in the country. So “put a bird on” your cowl and join in the annual Bird Festival at the Tualatin River NWR!
