From Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet:  The Happy Hooker

My father bought me my first vinyl album, Cyndi Lauper’s She's So Unusual, for my ninth birthday.  Fast-forward to my eBay purchase of a "learn to crochet" magazine published in 1946 by Clark’s J&P Coats, back when ladies not only wore gloves but also matched them to their own hat and handbag.  I’ve taken the side-to-side construction, ribbing, and lace from a vintage pattern in that magazine and updated it by modifying the lace, taking off the fingers, and adding shaping in the wrist.  the ribbing makes the gloves stretchy and warm, and the lace is a nod to Cyndi.

Note on gauge:  28 stitches = 4 inches; 12 rows in cluster lace pattern on back = 2 inches; 8 rows (unstretched) in palm pattern = 2 inches. Use the hook size YOU need to get gauge!
