The Kyoto wrap is a lovely and large project which can be made with several types of yarn and in different sizes and weigth as the seasons might change and you can adjust this pattern to any season. The pattern is inspired on the traditional Japanese fan dances which are often held in Kyoto - Japan by geisha’s. Each person who has ever seen this in real life might recognize the magical and graceful way of these dances. As the lace part of this wrap actually holds small fans you can imagine this theme was easily matched.

Some general information about the pattern.

The original pattern is made with 2 balls Scheepjes Whirl Fine Art and 1 ball of Merino Soft.

But, as this is a premium and exclusive yarn type I also added options in the pattern to make it with one Scheepjes Whirl or some balls of Scheepjes Colour Crafter. However, as each yarn has a different outcome I also made suggestions and classified them into seasons as a fingering cotton weight will deliver a much less and warm wrap, where a DK or Merino yarn type will give a more warm and heavier effect.

Amounts and sizes can be found in the free pattern - the original wrap will be approx. 150 cm / 59 inches height and 45 cm / 18 inches width

Stitch use in the pattern is pretty basic so the level for this pattern is beginner - as the pattern holds a written version, a photo tutorial and a chart. The pattern is tested.
