the Tibet Tiles
The Tibet Tiles is a mosaic crochet pattern. This pattern is the second edition of my tile patterns which holds different themes of places on our earth. The first edition was the Medina Mosaic Tiles which held as main theme the Mid-East region. Now with this second edition we have arrived in Tibet and in this pattern you will learn a lot about the Tibetan belief and all background stories involving geometric designs, colorwork and many more. You can visit my blog for more information.
Some general information about the pattern :
Materials needed :
- A crochet hook size 3,0 mm
-
Sewing needle and scissors
-
stitch markers
-
blocking materials
Yarn needed :
For this pattern I used Scheepjes Catona which is a mercerized cotton which comes in balls of 10, 25 and 50 grams with a length of 125 meters per 50 grams ball. As the pattern holds a lot of colors this yarntype is perfect as it comes in different weights so you can save some money on this. However, you could choose any yarntype for this pattern as long as you adjust the hooksize to the yarn, but the yarn amounts that are listed only apply for mercerised cotton.
In the meantime I have received some feedback about the amounts adviced for single tiles and the list of totals needed for the blanket. They don’t match in the pattern and that’s right. The amounts named for tiles are amounts with a “safe zone”in it for every tension and way of crocheting. The list of total amounts does not match with those totals cause the list shows actual amounts used out of test results. Most of the people did have plenty of yarn out of these totals and so I added these amounts as it is already a lot to buy. So there is the reason !
For the pattern you need the following amounts of Scheepjes Catona including border and joining :
110 Jet Black – 20 balls of 50 grams ( 1000 grams needed )
101 Candle Light – 1 ball of 25 grams ( 16 grams needed )

The pattern holds a lot of notes which only make it easier to crochet the pattern. The crochet pattern comes in written instructions guided with step by step photos and there are charts for the tiles in the pattern.
The original pattern is available in English and a German, Spanish and Dutch version is already available. There is a Italian version also available from now on, it is made by Raffamussadesigns. From now on there is also a Hungarian version which is translated by Reka Erdei.
The pattern is carefully tested by seven testers.
errata : In the Dutch version was a typo in Round 14 on the large tile pattern. There was a double 2ST in VL behind each other which had to be just one time a 2ST in VL. Pattern updated after 22-05-19
