Keiko the Bunny
Keiko the Bunny is short, sweet and loves Easter. So much that for this year’s Easter egg hunt she is wearing an egg costume topped with a big lilac bow.
Keiko is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Keiko is approx. 13cm tall (5 inches).
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
Please contact me immediately if you have purchased this pattern thinking it is an actual toy as I do not process refunds after the PDF file has been downloaded.
You will need:
- 2.20mm hook/B-1 (US)
- 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in each colour: LEMON, MINT, PINK, PURPLE and BEIGE
- BLACK and WHITE 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- A pair of 7mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item.
- I’ve used the following yarns: o LEMON = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 53 o MINT = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 25 o PINK = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 93 o PURPLE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 40 o BEIGE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 03
- I have used plastic safety eyes but you may choose to embroider the eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
