This is a yoked pullover, knit in the round from the bottom up with a few short rows to give a relaxed and flattering neckline. It is easy to knit and a good option for those who may want to try colour-stranding for the first time. The sweater is designed to fit with 3 to 4” of positive ease, for a classic fit. Two shades of sport weight yarn are used.

My inspiration for Katie’s Silhouette stems from a UK pattern I used for a Fair Isle turtleneck in the early ‘80’s that was a favourite of mine at the time. However, there is a second motive in creating this sweater - it is the first of a series of 3 yoked pullovers, each individually inspired by three special young women in my life. So, stay tuned!

Choose the size that is 3 to 4” 7.5 to 10 cm larger than your actual chest measurement. 4” of positive ease will give you a classic fit.

GAUGE:
22 sts and 30 rows = 4” 10 cm in stockinette stitch using larger needles.

NEEDLES:
3.25 mm (US 3) 32” 80 cm circular needle
3.75 mm (US 5) 32” 80 cm circular needle or size needed to obtain the gauge.

Alternatively you can use the magic loop method to knit in the round using a long circular needle.
