Winter is coming and the holiday season is not quite upon us. As the days get shorter and the skies get darker, what better way to brighten things up than with Jumpin’ Jack Flash! We can conquer the winter blues together, with energy, vibrancy and vitality – and, of course, with knitting! So let’s combine them all with style, and stay warm and cosy, yet still look chic, as we celebrate the changing of the seasons!

Jumpin’ Jack Flash comes in three different sizes – small, medium, and large. This makes it suitable for yarns from light fingering to sport weight. It is a reversible modular knit but there is no seaming and weaving in of threads involved - you simply join the modules as you go!

Jumpin’ Jack Flash works with almost all yarns: solids, semi solids, tip dyed yarns, color gradients, and works especially well with very long color gradients. At the moment, you can find lots of very long color gradients on offer from many different Indie dyers, and in case you need some inspiration I’ve listed some below. All you need are two yarns with a distinguishable contrast, otherwise you won’t see the “Flashes” in your work.

Depending on the size you want to knit, you will need about 700 - 1100 yards of your main color and about 120 -175 yards of the contrasting color.

All instructions are written and charted. Additionally, I’ve also included some helpful photo tutorials demonstrating the techniques of shaping and joining the modules. This makes Jumpin’ Jack Flash a feasible project for most knitters.

Happy knitting!
