Hodge Podge Hat
This is not your ordinary crochet pattern. No checking gauge or worrying about yardage, this rolled-brim style hat is created by hodge-podging together any yarn you have on hand in your “stash.” In true “fabulously fun and funky style,” every hat you make while using this pattern will be one of a kind! I created my first hodge-podge hat on accident while trying to find a creative way to use all the partial skeins I had laying around. After I sold that original hat and received several requests for more, I decided to write this pattern. If you like traditional crochet patterns, this is not the pattern for you, but if you are feeling adventurous then grab your hooks and any yarn you have on hand. Don’t be afraid to use fun textured yarn or clashing colors. The Hodge Podge hat is all about creating the “unexpected,” unique, one-of-a-kind fashion statement, although I have included instructions on how to make the raspberry colored hat in the first three photos.
I have also included a photo tutorial on how to make the shabby silk flower.
Necessary Crochet Skills: I would consider this an “easy” pattern, but you should know how to make a MR, work in rounds, do color changes, hdc. Please feel free to contact me via Ravelry convo or by email at mommasgotmojo@yahoo.com with questions or help pertaining to my patterns.
