The Checkers and Buttons Cap
This hat was published in Happily Hooked Magazine Issue #18, September 2015.
The best thing about this cap, besides how trendy and adorable it is, is that the combination of simple stitches used creates an intricate and interesting texture with little effort. This hat pattern makes adventurous beginners look like crocheting pros and is varied enough to keep the pros from experiencing crochet boredom. The finished product is just slouchy enough to hide bad hair days and is unisex, too! This is one of my favorite hats to wear; I get comments on it every time I am out.
The pattern includes instructions for the following sizes:
0-3 months
3-6 months
6-12 months
1-3 years
3-10 years
Teen/Adult
Pattern is written in standard US crochet terms.
Necessary crochet skills: magic ring, working in the round, hdc, fpdc and bpdc.
