High Rise is a bold, architectural blanket built from vertical strips that interlock to form a rhythmic field of diamonds and zigzags. Inspired by graphic geometry and city skylines, the design combines strong structure with the softness and warmth of garter stitch.

Each strip begins with a checkerboard “Ric Rac” motif, which sets the visual rhythm for the piece. From there, mitered squares and triangles are added, and the strip is gradually widened by picking up and knitting stitches along the edges. Finished strips are joined using 3-needle bind-off, eliminating sewing. Borders are worked last by picking up and knitting stitches around the perimeter of the blanket.
