Pisces is inspired by ocean life. It may appear to be fish scales or a mermaid. The sample is worked in blues and earth tones from the Jeans line of Lion Brand Yarn.

The scales are separated from each other by a dark border in the sample. Imagine how this blanket would look in aqua, purples, pink and peach and white separators for a softer aquatic theme, or in neon colors for some color punch! Another fun idea is to have one scale of a completely different color from all the others.

The blanket is worked bottom-to-top in a series of horizontal strips. It is a modular (no sew) project, worked entirely in garter stitch, and worked in one piece on circular needles. The techniques are pick up and knit and some short rows, which are very simplified in garter stitch knitting.
