The Helle cardigan is worked from bottom to top, back and forth on circular needles.
First stitches are casted on with Italian cast on using scrap yarn, then the ribbing edge is worked, and the body is afterwards worked according to the pattern in the chart.
When the cardigan has the right length, decreases are made to shape the v-neck on both sides, later the body is divided into front pieces and back piece, and these are worked separately.
The shoulders are knitted together, then stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are worked in the round from top to bottom according to the chart.
To finish, stitches are picked up along the front pieces, and the front edge is worked in ribbing.

It is both inspiring and demanding to be the first woman in your field; the first female astronaut, the first female Nobel Prize winner in economics, the first female prime minister who arrives wearing a pink suit to a meeting where all the other participants are men in dark suits.
The spotlight is on those who lead. Those who stand in the front row to make history.
The Helle cardigan is a tribute to Denmark’s first female prime minister, who fought for her own right, and everyone else’s right, to express themselves as who they are. Helle’s fondness for pink is the inspiration for this bubble gum coloured cardigan because: what other colour symbolizes both feminine strength and personal expression in the same way as pink?
