This kerchief has a secret weapon: A hidden ponytail holder helps the kerchief stay on all day with perfect comfort and also prevents the ribbing from getting too loose over time from being stretched out. It also allows the kerchief to fit many head sizes comfortably, from child through adult.

The kerchief is knit flat with tabs that get folded over to secure the ponytail holder in place with just a few stitches. The mock cable ribbing adds some style but is super-easy to do - no cable needle necessary.

This is the perfect use for leftover sock or fingering yarn - it only takes about 100 yards, and looks great with solids, tonals, variegated, or hand paints.

A fun warm-weather accessory, or a great solution for a bad hair day!
