HARRY POTTER BEANIE

If you, like me, have a little Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor fan in the family – or even a Slytherin or Ravenclaw within your reach, chances are that this beanie will be a hit.

My youngest turns 11 in a few weeks and of course I want to send her off to Hogwarts wearing the right beanie for her preferred dorm :slightly_smiling_face: The beanie pictured is a Hufflepuff version but you can choose the colourways matching the dorm of your choice. The pattern has suggestions for colour combinations for Rawenclaw, Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff - and suggestions for 3 different yarn base combinations to suit your preferences and budget.

MATERIALS
I have used a combination of lace and light fingering yarn and the glittery Filcolana Paia yarn for the stripes. The pattern has colour suggestions for:
A: Mohair by Canard kidsilk and 2 ply
B: Hedgehog Fibres kidsilk mohair and skinny singles
C: Filcolana Indicita and Tilia

You will also need a Harry Potter application for the beanie. There are plenty out there at diy shops or fan webshops.

KNITTING GAUGE
The gauge is 26 sts & 35 rows for 10x10 cm.

NEEDLES
I have used 3,75 mm circular needles and dpns.

The beanie is a very easy knit, it only requires a few knits and purls and cdd.

I hope, you’ll enjoy the #harrypotterbeanie as much as I have enjoyed designing it!

Happy knitting, witches and wizzards! :-)
