Grand Slam Design
Pattern description from Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting: “This cloth is worked in single motifs of four different designs: Club, Diamond, Heart and Spade and one motif of a lace ground pattern. These motifs are then joined together as explained in the following working instructions and their number and arrangement can vary according to the individual taste of the knitter and the size of the cloth.”
100g of 2-ply yarn is approximately enough for 16 squares. Note: Squares of the ground pattern will use slightly less yarn than squares containing the card motifs.
Both charts and written instructions are given.
Materials:
- Eight motifs of this design can be worked from one ball of Crochet Cotton No. 50 or 60, or 1 oz. of Linen Thread No. 50 or 60.
- Two knitting needles No. 13.
- One steel crochet hook No. 4 or 5.
Measurements: Each motif is 5.5 in. square.
