The texture and structure of Granite Haven Gotland yarn works beautifully with this richly cabled stitch pattern, creating a snug fitting and delightfully warm hat. This all over cable pattern looks impressive but is easy to work. The brim flows effortlessly into the body cables and the crown decreases are integrated into the cable pattern, creating a striking finish to your hat.

This hat has been named after the Gooram Falls in Victoria, a place close to the Granite Haven Farm, where the wonderful flock of Gotland sheep that created this special yarn live.

4mm / US 6 circular needle 40cm / 16in length (or 80cm / 32in length for magic loop)
4mm / US 6 set of DPNs for crown decreases, or longer circular needle for magic loop

9 (10, 11) stitch markers (optional, to mark pattern repeats). You may find it helpful to have one different coloured stitch marker to mark the start of your rnd.

Always use the needle size that enables you to match the specified gauge.

26.5 sts and 34 rnds over 10cm / 4in of Cable Pattern worked in the rnd and blocked, using 4mm / US 6 needles

Pattern Notes

This snug fitting hat is worked from the brim to the crown. You may wish to size up if you prefer a slightly slouchier style.
If you wish to lengthen or shorten the hat please adjust the brim length accordingly.
