The final pattern in, and strictly exclusive to, The Gorgeousness Collection, Glitterati is the icing on the cake. A top down, crescent shaped shawl with, super simple, mock cables that seamlessly become a sumptuous beaded border. This is one glamorous little number that is quick, simple and oh so effortlessly elegant that you will want to knit one in every colour!
REQUIREMENTS
Yarn and Finished Size: Posh Yarn Robynn Heavy Lace (600m/100g) measures, 66” (168cm) wide and 17.5” (45cm) deep after blocking, knit as written. These figures are a guide only and the overall size will depend on your exact tension and how strongly you block. Other yarns of the same base are Green Tea Yarns Pekoe Heavy Lace, Pook Pure Silk Heavy lace and Natural Born Dyers Lorbanery. This pattern is also suitable for slightly lighter weights too as this particular base is very fine for a heavy lace. Other suitable yarns include Fyberspates Gleam Lace, Lichtfaden Pure Silk Lace, Sweet Georgia Merino Silk Lace, Hedgehog Silk Merino Lace, Beloved Yarns Opulence Lace, Handmaiden Fine Yarns Sea Lace and DyeforYarn Tussah Silk Lace.
Needles: 3.25 (US3), 3.5mm (US4) and 3.75mm (US5) needles though it is better to use a needle that produces a fabric you are happy with and needle size will depend on the yarn used. You will want good drape and should therefore use a larger needle than if you were knitting a garment. A change in needle size may affect your yardage requirements.
You will also need: Stitch Markers, Needle, Blocking Pins, 1mm cro-tat hook (or 0.75 crochet hook for applying beads) and just under 850 Miyuki size 6 seed beads when worked as written.
Gauge: 23sts to 4inches before blocking, 15sts to 4inches after on main body pattern using size 3.5mm (US4) needles. Gauge is not critical and any yarn is suitable for this pattern though needle size and yardage requirements will vary.
The pattern is both fully written and charted with bead placement clearly indicated throughout.
You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer, however, coloured pencils could be used to highlight aspects of the pattern and bead placement.
