The Gesso Socks pattern is a top-down, straightforward sock pattern featuring the new aknitica heel configured for stockinette stitch.

It is a beginner-sock-knitter friendly pattern.

The Gesso Socks will release on October 1, 2025. You can pre-order them by adding them to your Ravelry library today OR by purchasing The Heels for Days Sock Club at an early-adopter price, available until September 30 at midnight EST.

The aknitica heels create a lovely diagonal stripe in a self-contained heel area. They’re a mash-up of short-row and increase/decrease shaping techniques that not only create a striking visual but also allow the knitter to create a roomier fit than a typical short-row heel arrangement.

The short-row placement opens up the entire heel area to additional design possibilities. I’ve been having a ton of fun experimenting with variations in shaping placements and techniques.

I’ve come up with 10+ variations and counting, and I’ll be publishing a new heel variation every month in The Heels for Days Sock Club.

The Heels for Days Sock Club runs from October 2025 to July 2026.

Every month, you’ll receive a new sock heel pattern to knit.

(The first one of my socks heels, Palindrome, was published on Knitty in their June issue and is available as a free pattern from Knitty.com.)

Included in the club subscription are:

  • 10+ new heels and/or variations
  • 2 basic socks for use with all heels
  • 2+ additional full-sock patterns to go with a new heel

When you purchase the club, you will automatically find the up-to-date heel releases in your Ravelry library. After that, each month you’ll receive the next heel pattern as a pattern update.
