While having a long walk through the winterly and sunny forest, I admired the beauty of frozen puddles. This inspired me for the design FROZEN PUDDLE in which I aimed to transform the patterns formed by the ice in the puddles into a textured stitch pattern.

The cozy shawl designed in On Stage Long Métreage and Silkdivine held together is the result of a collaboration with Nature’s Luxury - thank you so much for your support, Danica.

FROZEN PUDDLE consists of a long rectangular shape in which a triangle with a textured pattern is embedded and is worked sideways. The result is a large shawl with rectangular ends that gets deeper towards the centre. The stitch pattern runs parallel to the top edging. This stitch pattern is realized by in- and decreasing knit and purl stitches, so, there is no need to take out your cable needle for it. (But to be honest, there are two small cables though.)

Light fingering yarn held together with lace (mohair) yarn - The yarns are held together throughout the project.

Needles:
4.5 mm circular needle

On Stage - Long Métrage (50% Merino wool, 30% silk, 20% camel; 400 m /437 yd per 100g) and Silk Divine (60% mohair, 40 % silk; 1200 m / 1312 yd per 100g)

Bei einem langen Spaziergang durch den winterlich-sonnigen Wald bewunderte ich die Schönheit von gefrorenen Pfützen (= „Frozen Puddles“), in die das Eis wunderschöne Muster hineinzaubert. Dies nahm ich als Inspiration für das Schaltuch FROZEN PUDDLE – das dominierende Muster ahmt dabei die zugefrorenen Pfützen nach. Dieses Muster wird ausschließlich durch Zu- und Abnahmen realisiert.

Der kuschelige Schal, der mit On Stage Long Métreage und Silkdivine designt wurde, ist das Ergebnis einer Zusammenarbeit mit Nature’s Luxury - vielen Dank für deine Unterstützung, Danica.

Die Grundform des Schaltuchs ist ein langes Rechteck, in das ein Dreieck mit Strukturmuster eingebettet ist und wird von Seite zu Seite gearbeitet. Das Ergebnis ist ein großes Schaltuch mit rechteckigen Enden, das zur Mitte hin breiter wird. Das Maschenmuster verläuft parallel zur oberen Kante.
