Forestry Mitts
The rainforest building at the local zoo is full of wonderful colours and textures, not least of which are the moss growths on the rocks and a curtain of vines cascading from the ceiling down to the water level.
The lace and texture patterns used in these mitts are named after these two features of the created habitat and can be found in forests across the globe.
These fingerless mitts use only 50g (yardage/gauge dependant) of DK-weight yarn and knit up quickly. They would make a lovely gift for someone.
Matching cowl and hat patterns are also available. You can buy all three through Ravelry (with a discount if you buy the set).
This design currently features in a kit at The Loop, Kensington, Calgary.
