This design was inspired by grey foggy winter
mornings in Frankfurt. I believe, there are many of
us, who feel the same in winter.

Size and measurements
The pattern is written for 2 adult sizes: XS-S (to fit
the head circumference 48-56 cm /18-22 in) and
M-L (56-60 cm /22-24 in).
The brim length when folded 6.5 cm / 2.9 in, the
hat length 21 cm /8 in from turned up brim edge
to the crown, recommended pompon size 6.5 cm
/ 2.9 in in diameter.

Yarn
3 shades of grey Nepal from Drops (65% wool,
35% alpaca, 90 m in 50 g) or any similar non
superwash yarn to match the gauge.
Color 1: about 80 g grey mix 0501
Color 2: under 20 g dark grey 0506
Color 3: under 10 g white 1101

Needles and notions
Size 4.0 mm (6 US) 50 cm circular needles, size 4.5
mm (7 US) 50 cm circular needles, 4.5 mm (7 US)
DPNS to work the crown (optional), 4 mm crochet
hook, stitch marker, pompon maker (optional).

Gauge
21 stitches in 10 cm/4 inches with 4.5 mm (7 US)
needles in stockinette stitch with fair isle motif.
Please knit a swatch in a round to estimate the
gauge correctly.
