Flower Granny Hexagon Coverlet and Headband
This sweet little coverlet is made using a simple, granny-flower hexagon. It has a final diameter of 32.5 cm (13).
Use solid cream cotton for an heirloom, antique cream lace effect. Or, why not use a variety of bold colours, for a modern, vibrant coloured piece.
Colour changes are indicated to achieve the same look as the photographed piece.
Team it with the matching headband (35 cm /14”) for a fantastic two-piece newborn photo prop.
Full instructions for joining the hexagons are included.
YOU WILL NEED: 400 m double knit 100% cotton yarn (100 in each colour if using 4 colours as shown), a 3.50 mm hook and a needle for neatening ends.
GAUGE: The flower centre, when worked in dk should measure approximately 7.5 cm (3”) in diameter and the final hexagon will measure 12.5cm (5”) across widest section. You may vary this according to your needs, maybe even adding additional hexagons for a larger cover.
The pattern is written in UK terms with a table of US equivalents provided, as applicable.
The pattern has been fully tested.
