30 sts and 32 rounds to 10cm / 4in over colourwork pattern in the round after blocking.
Use 2.75mm needle as a starting point for swatching.

To fit hand circumference: 18-19cm / 7-7.5in
Height from cuff to tip: 23cm / 9in
To fit a longer hand, add plain rows in shade A between rounds 0 and 1 of the chart. You may add a longer stem (the slip stitch on chart round 1) with duplicate stitch.

Pattern notes
These mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up following a colourwork chart. After a decorative cast on and a small corrugated ribbing section, the chart integrates a thumb gusset, with thumb stitches put on a holder before finishing the rest of the body. The large pattern is mirrored on the back of left and right mittens, with a smaller leafy motif on the palm. Modified French knots may be added at the end as an embellishment.
