Fána
For the first 2 weeks after the release of Fána, I pledged to gift the pattern to anyone who made a donation to NASC or the Immigrant Council of Ireland, both of whom support the work of migrants & refugees here in Ireland. My LYS, This is Knit, pledged to match the first week’s donations. Thanks to the generosity of many individuals we raised a total of e707.90 between the two organisations.
Thank you to everyone who offered financial or moral support. For more information you can see these following websites:

Fána (FAWN-ah, the Irish for downward slope) is a cowl worked in the round. It features an allover travelling slipped stitch pattern over a background of two-colour garter stitch stripes.
The pattern begins with a garter stitch border, worked in the round in the contrast colour. Once the main colour is introduced, all knit rounds are worked in MC, and purl rounds worked in CC.
Only one colour is worked per round; the motif stitches are slipped when working the contrast colour.
The pattern includes written and charted instructions for the travelling stitch motif.
The pattern is written in two sizes:
Small size approx 70cm/27.5” circumference x 22 cm 8.5” tall.
