Boom! is a very simple asymmetric boomerang shawl, knit in garter stitch with increases and decreases. The shawl was designed with the intention of displaying a colour gradient in handspun yarns, prepared from commercially blended tops, but could be used with any commercial yarn. It would be ideal for variegated or gradient yarns.
The basic knitting instructions could be used with any thickness of yarn & appropriate needles, to make any size shawl desired.

The pattern also includes instructions on the fibre preparation used to spin the yarn for version 1. The sample was knit in yarn spun from Wingham Wool Works merino blend in Giggleswick.

Pattern updated March 2020 with clearer instructions; including advice on two different sizes of shawl using two different yarns.
Errors spotted in instructions for row 2: this should end with a ‘K1’ that was omitted. The pattern has now been updated; file name ‘boom! 18.03’ is the most recent version.
